Hey Swim Fam!

First, let me apologize if you get this email twice. If you do, it means you swam last year and are already registered for this season (GO YOU!) Swimtopia is tricky about pulling emails, and if I want to make sure everyone who has participated/might participate/is participating for this season is emailed, I have to send two. Sorry! Also, if you are new here, be prepared to be over communicated to. I never want to feel like everyone is not fully informed!

Now, on to the good stuff…

• You may have noticed that the pool cover is off and the pool area is looking incredible. We have some neighborhood volunteers to thank for that! We are going to be sharing our space for a bit with the Enfinity Aquatic Club, so if you see anyone in the pool before May 12th, that's who it is.
• Swim team registration is open! Aqua Demons Swim Registration!
• Early-bird pool registration fees go up on Monday, April 15! Remember, you must have a pool membership (there is a swim team only membership option) in order to be on the team. Let me know if you have any questions about this. Clemmons West pool membership info!
• If you completed the swim cap survey, tradition won, and I have ordered royal blue swim caps with the white logo. Based on the amount of lost caps and tearing we experienced last year, I decided to order latex caps this year instead of silicone. The cost difference was astronomical and my hope is that everyone who registers will get one cap free and then I will sell extras for $5 each, instead of $11. I don’t know how many, but I do think I have a few silicone ones left. My preference would be to save those for anyone who may legitimately have a medical issue with latex. (Also remember, caps are not required, but definitely recommended.)
• The meet and greet dinner that we have every year at the beginning of the season is SATURDAY, MAY 10TH! Join us at the pool shelter for dinner and fun. The dinner usually starts around 5pm, but I will get you more exact details as I have them.
• At the meet and greet dinner and during the first week of practice I will have team suits available to try on for sizing and ordering purposes. You are not required to have a team suit. I would encourage having a solid blue suit if you do not order one, but as this is summer swim, I just want everyone comfortable and participating!
• This year, I plan to have our tie dye night on a night during our bye week (6/2-6/6) so that kids can have shirts to wear all season, rather than just at finals and for the end of the season. I am also in talks with Katie Hicks to put our logo on the shirts before or after we have dyed them!

Stroke & Turn:

If you have previously (within the last couple years) been a stroke and turn judge for summer swim, you should have received an email from me about testing.

If you have never been a stroke and turn judge, but have questions about the role, or are interested in getting certified let me know! I will post training dates when I know them. If you have never been involved with swim and are confused about what you just read, that’s ok! Ask questions!

PRACTICE STARTS MAY 12th AND WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!

You will receive more information as we get closer about exact times. If you know of any swimmers who may be interested in boot camp or have questions about the whole swim team experience, please send them my way!

5/27: Aqua Demons at New Sherwood Stingrays- *This meet is actually being moved to our pool! They do not have a heated pool so they are going to come to us but run the meet as if it were a home meet for them.

6/2-6/6: No meet this week but we will have practice. Tie Dye night one night this week!

6/10: Aqua Demons at Sherwood Sharks

6/17: Waterford Stingrays at Aqua Demons

6/24: Aqua Demons at Brookberry Fins

7/1: Peace Haven Dolphins at Aqua Demons
